“El barco de los soñadores” 2026 Fine Art Print

Translation: “The Dreamers Ship”

Its been very difficult for me to come to a name for this painting, for what the monarch butterfly represents to me and other immigrant communities, to the dreamers, to a child. As a kid I thought going butterfly catching would be a fun activity but I never did it, and overall understood the idea that the beauty of the moment was that, a beatiful moment between the butterfly and I to be enjoyed. The butterfly was free, visiting me, and I was free, admiring her.

The monarch butterfly has been a symbol of hope and freedom for the Dreamer, for immigrants, for returning home. I pray for the immigrant community that one day everyone will understand how natural migration is.

Inspired by one of my favorite paintings Vladimir Kush's "Departure of a Winged Ship”
